Video Testimony: Muslim-Background Believer in Southeast Asia

This video interview is from a Muslim-background believer in Southeast Asia. He has known the Lord for less than two years and his family has already left him. He and the eleven other Christians in their people group have been marked for various types of economic and physical persecution. Jesus is daily giving him unprecedented joy and boldness in the midst of pain and sorrow because the Lord has opened his eyes to the glories of the Gospel.

“For the Son of Man came to see and to save the lost.” – Luke 19:10

What can we do?

It’s difficult to share the Gospel with a Muslim man or woman who is half-way around the world and speaks another language. Many of those in his people group can’t even read well enough to understand what limited Bible translations they have.

But, churches that we’ve partnered with have been sending pastors to their location to spend time training national Christians how to walk with Jesus and proclaim the Gospel to their own people group. Speak with one of your pastors and ask what missions partnerships your church is involved in. Your local body might already be doing missional work among an unreached people that you don’t know about yet. If so, then find ways you can support that. Give financially. Learn more about what it would take to prepare and go support national believers through your church.

How can we pray?

  • Pray for this small church in Southeast Asia to grow daily. Ask the Lord to give them favor among their family and friends, so that they will meet open ears and hearts that will trust Jesus for salvation.
  • Pray these twelve Christians will remain bold and faithful in the midst of persecution. They know they will possibly lose their homes and their families. They know it will make life easier to simply claim Islam or Buddhism and step back in line with the predominant culture. But, pray they will trust the power and love of Christ more than the approval of man.

“And they sang a new song, saying, ‘Worthy are You to take the scroll and to open its seals, for You were slain, and by Your blood You ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and You have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.'” – Revelation 5:9-10
