The Bulletin: The Book of Philippians, Dropping Things out of Helicopters, and What it Means to be a Disciple
Donald Whitney is one of our favorite teachers related to the spiritual disciplines, and Crossway has provided a free 5-day video class on Praying the Bible. It’s based on his excellent (and small) book, Praying the Bible. We love them both!
David Platt recently published a new book, and Raleigh Sadler wrote a great review about it over on The Gospel Coalition website. Check it out. We haven’t read the book yet, but have it on our need-to-read list!
The SWO Institute students started their Philippians class this past Monday with Spencer Davis, and things are going great. If you are studying Philippians, be sure to add Tony Merida’s commentary to your library: Exalting Jesus in Philippians.
You might have seen this new Dude Perfect video already, but they’re dropping stuff out of helicopters…probably worth watching again.
Jamie Dew preached one of the first chapel sessions of the semester at his previous school, SEBTS. We love this guy in general, but he also delivered a fantastically biblical sermon on What Does it Mean to be a Disciple? (Mark 10:35-45).
Many of our staff just started a small group Bible study from the IMB called Deepen Discipleship in our local church. What’s better than reading the Bible and praying together?
