Psalm 43 focuses on the turmoil experienced by the soul when it feels at the mercy of circumstances. However, truth tells us that circumstances don’t reign supreme– Jesus does. Throughout turmoil and in times of rejoicing, we must remember that our faith is both individual and corporate. We should not grow weary of the importance of suffering alongside others who are different from us. We must enter into the suffering of others, like he entered into our suffering. Our anchoring hope in the turmoil of a broken world is Jesus, and we have the obligation of taking the hope of Christ into the world.
