Ramadan prayer – Pakistan

Summary of Pakistan

Pakistan is a hot, dry country that borders India, China, Afghanistan, and Iran. The people have been through several major wars in the past century, and continued conflicts with India have left their people with very little stability. Some of the major industries include textiles, agriculture, food processing, and pharmaceuticals. Because of a lack of effective trade with other nations, Pakistan remains largely underdeveloped.

There are 422 people groups in Pakistan, and 414 of them are unreached with the light of the Gospel (Joshua Project). Over 99% of Pakistanis claim Islam as their religion — meaning there are over 200 million Pakistani Muslims with little or no access to the Gospel. The few Christians that remain here are under heavy persecution and everyday hardships that come with living in an underdeveloped world.

Prayer points

“But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.” – 2 Corinthians 2:14

Muslims – Pray for Muslims in Pakistan to have dreams that point them to the true God. Ask the Lord to connect Pakistani Muslims with the few Christians and Bibles that are available, and to soften their heart to repent and place their faith in Jesus. Pray that men, women, and children will see the hopelessness of Islam and trust in the grace of Jesus to reconcile them to God.

Christians – Pray for our brothers and sisters in Pakistan to be bold in the face of persecution, and look toward the eternal hope found in our Heavenly Father. May Christ give them enormous grace and love for their friends and family members that don’t follow Jesus. Pray that underground house churches would be able to form and meet for the edification of the body and that they would spur one another forward in holiness and encourage.
