Backpacking Photos: OLD School 2019
The 2019 OLD School semester is well underway, and the crew just returned from rock climbing in the Western North Carolina mountains! We’re pulling together a photo update for everyone from that trip soon. But, for now, check out these fantastic pics from backpacking.
All the students seem to be growing in both their faith and outdoor skills. These guys and girls have grown tight bonds with each other already, and we’re excited to see how the Lord keeps growing them through the rest of the semester.
“Backpacking is an adventure. Removed from my environments of comfort and rhythm, I experienced a place to think and grow. The freedom of the trail and conversation of the community pushed me to see the life outside my own. A backpacking church accompanied by backcountry silence gave ground to see the world and people around me.” – William Jacobs
“‘The heart in him is the heart he’s in.’ These words came to me when reflecting on our backpacking trip through the backcountry. The wrestling within the heart of mankind and the terrain we conquer, whether be valley or peak, share a deeply intimate connection. A simple attempt to surmount each mountain, that is, your own heart.” – Christopher Zaskey
