Guest Speakers at Iron on Iron 2018
We’re excited to announce two guest speakers for breakouts at Iron on Iron, our 2018 Student Pastor conference! Brian Freerksen (Hyland Heights Baptist) and Jonge Tate (Bedrock Church), both long-time partners of SWO, are preparing to teach during the weekend. Brody Holloway and the Snowbird teachers will cover several main sessions and breakouts as well. This might be our favorite weekend of the year because it represents so much of what Snowbird is about — encouraging and equipping the local church to make disciples. This is a rich weekend for us, and we pray it’s a great time for you to get away with your pastoral or volunteer ministry teams. Check out the bio information to learn more about Brian and Jonge, and don’t forget that you can find all of the most current conference details right on the Iron on Iron page of the SWO website.
August 24-25, 2018
Brian is a graduate of Liberty University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministries and Youth Ministry. In May of 1996, Brian earned a Master of Divinity at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. Brian began his full-time ministry with students as the Assistant High School Pastor at Thomas Road Baptist Church. Upon graduation, Brian served as Associate Pastor of Students at Lizella Baptist Church in Lizella, GA. After eleven and a half years of service, God called Brian and his family back to Lynchburg to serve in the role of Senior High Pastor and Director of Student Ministries at Hyland Heights Baptist Church in 2007 where he serves now. One of Brian’s greatest joys is developing and training the next generation of student pastors. Brian has been married to his lovely wife, Nancy, for 27 years in August and they have a son and two daughters.
Jonge graduated from Liberty University with a bachelors in Religion & Youth Ministry, then went on to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated with a Masters in Biblical Counseling. He is a founding elder at Bedrock Church in Virginia. Jonge’s primary roles at Bedrock include vision casting, coaching, teaching, and developing staff. He and his wife, Lynnea, have been married for 19 years. They have one son and three daughters.
The optional pre-conference begins at 12 noon on Friday.
We will see you soon!
