Be Strong Wrap-up

Make a commitment to bring your kids along for the journey. Make sure they see you struggle and God prove himself faithful! — Brody Holloway

Over 125 men joined us for our Be Strong men’s conference, the spring event of its type. The weekend was packed with sessions from Brody Holloway and Rob Conti, with 2 panel Q&A discussions mixed in. Gleaning from scripture in Numbers 32, Joshua 1, 2 Samuel 11-12, and Psalm 51, we were reminded that the Christian life is not comfortable. There will be days of weakness, struggle, and failure as a man of God. But there will always be strength provided for the man who lives in obedience in the difficult times. A life of following Christ is passive, but it is boldly aggressive and often marked with repentance.

Brody charged men in the Thursday night opening session to fight for the holiness of our families, and toss aside the pursuit of selfishness and pride. “Be a man that reflects the glory of God as a father and husband!” he urged. Friday night’s session reminded us that God always has forgiveness ready for those who have failed in the past, and that He cleanses us daily by His blood.

“For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it;
you will not be pleased with a burnt offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”

Psalm 51:16-17
