Missions + Community = Spring SMO
Each March and April, a select couple of churches arrive at Snowbird to invest their spring break for the sake of proclaiming the Gospel in the town of Andrews, NC. These weeks are small and fly under-the-radar in the grand scheme of a yearly calendar. However, the impact of 4-6 days spent working on the homes of complete strangers goes much further than Western North Carolina.
Steve Brooks, student pastor at Hillside United Methodist, has been bringing his students up for 11 years and has no plans to change their strategy in the future. Our staff have built lasting relationships with Hillside leaders and students amidst repairing roofs, painting homes, and sharing the message of Jesus with homeowners.
Each evening, students sit in evening services focused on the exposition of scripture and are given the ability to discuss personal application in a small group setting. Snowbird is about equipping the Church to impact this generation, and Snowbird Missions & Outreach (SMO) is about showing this generation how to serve with the mind of Christ—pointing them to the Gospel.
