His Yoke is Easy

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
(Matthew 11:28-30)

We hope you’ve had a great Labor Day. Rest is biblical, our bodies are temporary. Our bodies are not able to continue working nonstop without rest…because of the fall. Work is not our curse, but our inability to perform it perfectly or completely. Our prayer is that you have been refreshed today–but not because you were able to fit in two more hours of sleep, or because you didn’t sit at a the office computer for eight hours. We hope that you have found rest in Christ Jesus, in His strength and hope. By His grace, we can rest our salvation because it does not depend upon ourselves but in the blood of the perfect lamb of God. The life that a believer lives is so fully sustained by Jesus, that we forget how depend on the strength of Christ.

Here at Snowbird Outfitters, we have spent the day doing rec training for the new crop of interns. Others have spent cleaning cabins from the students we ministered to last week. We didn’t get a break today, but just camp off an amazing two-day weekend that is very hard to come by. So, we are excited to be back to work! The staff here consider ourselves blessed beyond measure to participate in the work of our King. We have confidence in the success of our ministry in the Gospel, because we know it is the Holy Spirit working through us to accomplish His plan.

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all His energy that he powerfully works within me.”
(Colossians 1:28-29)

Rest in Christ and in His word!
