SWO12 kicks off

We are now less than 24 hours into Week 1 of SWO12! There are nearly 450 students from 24 churches at Snowbird this week–an exciting way to start out the summer. It’s been so great to see our summer staff already pursuing students with the Gospel, and convicting to hear the Lord speaking through Brody and Kahuna in the main sessions.

The teaching focus for this summer is “The Centrality of Christ in All Things.” Our desire is that students are overwhelmed by the glory of Christ this week. Just like the preview video we released earlier describes, He Holds All Things Together, Jesus is supreme in all things. He is God the Son, part of the holy Trinity. Paul writes in Colossians 1:15 that “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.” He is God incarnate, God in the flesh. Therefore, He exhibits all the glorious qualities of God. Jesus was not just a baby in a manger and He was not just a man crucified on a cross. Christ created and sustains the universe–humbling himself as the perfect Lamb of God.

“He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.” (Hebrews 1:3)

Pray with us this week. Read the book of Colossians, and then go before the throne of God on behalf of the students at SWO this summer. Pray that students are broken over personal sin, and that they will pursue holiness. Pray they will connect quickly with our staff, and feel comfortable seeking counsel from mature believers. Pray with confidence that the Holy Spirit is going to continue sanctification in hearts this week. Pray that the Holy Spirit will convict the lost and call them to repentance! Please pray for the youth pastors that are bringing their students. Plead with God for their encouragement in the faith, and boldness as they preach the Gospel to their students week after week.

Pray that students see Jesus as who He truly is!

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”
(John 14:6)
