Who wants to lose?

I am a sore loser.  I HATE losing.  I remember as a kid that i would get so mad when someone would imply that winning wasn’t very important.  “It’s HOW you play the game”…

I never bought into that. I think that if you are competing, then you better be competing to win.  Otherwise, why bother?  I come from an extremely competitive family, as does Little.  In our home it seems that almost everything can be turned into a competition.  We have made tossing driveway gravel at the mailbox a full blown competition before.  There is no such thing as a “friendly” game of horse when we shoot baskets.  Everything has the weight of a national championship.  That is just how it is.

Well, in this war that we wage against sin and temptation and the devil and the desires of the flesh, it is so exciting and encouraging to know that in the end…WE WIN!!!  I am so motivated by the fact that we will one day stand before Christ, the Warrior-Deliverer.  Last night i preached out of Rev. 19.  The picture there is not one of a humble birth in a manger, to a construction worker father and a teenage mother.  The scene is not a small Palestinian village in a distant world.  Rather, it is a Redeemer-King making war on his enemies once and for all.  In the end we will reign with Christ and worship him and there will be NO sin or death of pain.  Praise the Lord!

Yep, i LOVE winning.

That message was awesome Brody. All my guys were takling about how they had changed their picture of Jesus. No more “Baby Jesus” in a manger, He IS our KING, worthy of respect, honor, fear, praise, glory and service.
    Preach on Brother!!!

i went to SWO this last week of camp and i believe that we need to apply ourselves as much in our life as we can and live life the way that is glorifying to God and “win” in life. what is life worth living for if not for christ. we need to “compete” with satin and win.i cant think of anything better than spending an eternity with our father in heaven.
thank you Brody for what you do at camp u and Kahuna r the most moving preachers i have ever heard and i appreciate it.

  • How did The Coop get its name?
We named it after Kenneth and Faye Cooper. They are big supporters of Snowbird, and helped make the building happen.

How many people can you really fit in that building?
It depends on if they’re all sitting in chairs or not.

    How long has Snowbird existed?
Steve and Billie Fay Coleman and Brody and Little Holloway began the construction and preparation of Snowbird in 1997.

What’s your favorite meal that Sam cooks?
As a staff…we are all in agreement that Sam makes the best prime rib. But you’ll only get that at the Couples’ Retreat.

    Where does “Snowbird” come from?
The mountain range above Andrews, NC is called the Snowbird mountains. We derived camp’s name from the mountains.

How long has Brody had a cross shaved on his head?
    10 years
