Summer camp at SWO is absolutely packed! The recreation that students and leaders engage in for a week of camp is more than most people will get to experience in a lifetime. For years, summer camp has been the one event that student pastors and leaders build the rest of their year around. It has traditionally provided an amazing platform to reach students who were otherwise “unreachable”. It can be used as a reference point for other events and weekly teaching throughout the school year. And it provides an experience that removes students from their comfort zones and gives them a fresh and new perspective on the Christ’s life, Scripture, and the need for community and discipleship.

SWO offers ten weeks of summer camp where every aspect is focused on challenging and encouraging students with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each camp session runs Monday through Saturday and is packed full of high-adventure recreation, Gospel-centered worship and teaching, optional Breakout sessions, and plenty of time to just hang out. You can do as little or as much as you like, but since you only do this once a year we remind you that you can always sleep when you get home.

When you book your week of camp we begin praying specifically for your group and preparing for your arrival. Your camp fee includes all accommodations, food, recreation, use of our skate park, white-water rafting on the Nantahala, worship and teaching sessions, plus plenty of time designed for your group to get outside of their world and focus on their relationship with Christ.

As soon as you arrive on the property our staff will greet you with our signature SWO staff welcome. Then, we will get you settled in your cabins and give you a basic orientation. That afternoon each student will take part in recreation sign-ups where they will choose their recreations for the week. Then in the evening we will worship together and pray over you for the week.

For the rest of your week at Snowbird, you will take part in two daily worship services (one in the morning and one in the evening), enjoy three delicious meals, and four afternoons of recreation. We also offer a variety of Breakout sessions that are optional for students and leaders. At the end of every day your group will have a time to meet together to share and process all that God is doing in your lives. This is a great time for your students to grow together in community with each other. During this time students are able to connect with their leaders and each other in a way that is based on shared experience, but rooted in the work of Christ in their hearts.

Saturday morning is a special time, where we will present a camp video, specifically made for your week of camp and then send you home with an encouragement not to allow camp to be a “spiritual high” that dies when you get home, but to continue in the Word of God.
