Terms, Changes and Questions

By using the Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters site you are agreeing to our privacy policy. If you don’t agree with it, then please don’t leave any personal information on the site.

Collection of Personal Information

We do not require you to identify yourself or to leave any personal information on our site. Any information your post will be considered public information. We do not recommend that you use a blog site or any web site for that matter to deal with personal issues. If you are dealing with something that you would like personal counsel on please do not use our website for that purpose. Please use a more confidential way to contact us (i.e. phone or email) so that we can point you in the right direction.

Disclosure of Personal Information

We will not disclose any of the personal information you provide online to third parties.

We may share aggregate, non-personal information about Web site usage with unaffiliated third parties, including, but not limited to, government agencies, advertisers, and the media. This aggregate information does not contain any personal information about our users.

Finally, we may be required to disclose personal information by law or legal process, to protect and defend the rights or property of the SWOutfitters site, or to protect the personal safety of users to one of our sites. We also reserve the right to contact appropriate authorities when activities that are illegal or violate our policies are taking place on the SWOutfitters site.

How We Protect Personal Information

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information. Only authorized employees are permitted to access your personal information, and they only may do so for permitted functions. Any employee who violates our privacy access policies will be subject to disciplinary action, including termination when appropriate.

Accessing or Deleting Your Personal information

If you have submitted personal information through the SWOutfitters site and you would like to access that information, call us. We will use reasonable efforts to supply you with this information and to correct any factual inaccuracies that you identify. Upon your request, we also will remove your personal information from our databases.

Collection, Use and Disclosure of Non-Personal Information

In some cases, the site may collect information about you that is not personally identifiable, as described below.

Internet Protocol Addresses

An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a number automatically assigned to your computer whenever you access the Internet. This number does not identify your name, e-mail address or other personal information. If you request pages from the SWOutfitters site, that site’s server will enter your IP address into a log. To maintain user anonymity, SWO does not associate IP addresses with records containing personal information. We also do not permit IP addresses to be associated and viewed with posts to services within the SWOutfitters site.

We store IP addresses for a period of time to help us to identify anyone who refuses to comply with our in-house rules or terms of service, and to identify visitors who threaten our service, site, customers or others. We also will use this information to measure site traffic for purposes of system administration and for our sponsors. This aggregate data also helps us to understand how people are using the Web site and helps us improve your online experience.

Cookies

Cookies are pieces of information that a Web site creates for record-keeping purposes. Some features of the SWOutfitters site may create or require cookies.

Our site may link to various Web sites. When you click on one of these links, you will be transferred from the SWOutfitters site and connected to the Web site of the organization or company that you selected. Even if an affiliation exists between SWO and a third-party web site, SWO exercises no control over linked sites. Each of these linked sites maintains it’s own independent privacy and data collection policies and procedures. If you visit a web site that is linked to the SWOutfitters site, you should consult that site’s privacy policy before providing those sites with any of your personal information.

  • How did The Coop get its name?
    We named it after Kenneth and Faye Cooper. They are big supporters of Snowbird, and helped make the building happen.

    How many people can you really fit in that building?
    It depends on if they’re all sitting in chairs or not.

    How long has Snowbird existed?
    Steve and Billie Fay Coleman and Brody and Little Holloway began the construction and preparation of Snowbird in 1997.

    What’s your favorite meal that Sam cooks?
    As a staff…we are all in agreement that Sam makes the best prime rib. But you’ll only get that at the Couples’ Retreat.

    Where does “Snowbird” come from?
    The mountain range above Andrews, NC is called the Snowbird mountains. We derived camp’s name from the mountains.
